Hello, I have been looking around here for a while but haven't posted much. I have 2 Cub Cadets: 126 and 1100. I don't know much about them at all. I paid $50 for one and the other was given to me. I don't even know what year model they are. Looking forward to learning from others here and getting both these tractors in "like new" condition.

Go to Sticky, CUB CADET RESOURSES, the subject directly above this one. You will find all, if not most of your desired information on Cub Cadets. Information includes serial number locations and cross references from serial number to year of manufacture.

How difficult is it to find implements for these tractors. Some I think I could probably build if there was a place I could go to get pics. Is there a place on this site? I looked but wondered if I was just missing it somehow.

Tiger:

The 126 is a Cub Cadet Garden Tarctor. Heavy Duty built between 1969 to 1971. These are great.

The 1100 is a Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor. This was built in the late 70's and was Cub's answer to price conscious market. It is similar to it's bigger brother's, the "Quietline" series.

The 126 is better suited for implements in that there are a lot offerings.

The CC 1100 is somewhat of a borderline machine, it and the later 482/582 models are very similar, in fact Cub Cadet classed those as, "Lawn and Garden tractors." A lot of people don't see those models as true CC garden tractors, but I do. Reason being is they are built on railed frames rather than the box section stampings of the small lawn tractors, and they have heavier gear drive transaxles and horizontal shaft engines, although they are economy-minded 11 HP aluminum Briggs and Strattons. (16 HP Briggs twin for the 582). The 126, although only 1 HP more than the 1100, has a legendary 12 HP cast iron Kohler and is the more rugged machine.

Thanks for all of the info. There is no doubt that the 126 is a stouter tractor than the 1100. You can tell that by just looking at the two. I plan on rebuilding both to "like new" condition. Basically I have had it with the cheap tin machines from Home Depot. They are basically a waste of money.

Hey "Tiger"...Be sure to get Operatror's, Service & Parts Manuals for BOTH your Cub Cadets (if they didn't come with the tractors). You can buy these at http://www.binderbooks.com AND, you'll find them necessary tools to complete your restorations.
