Model and year?
Can somebody please tell me by looking at these two attachments the model and year of this cub cadet? I’m trying to order a manual so I can put in a new clutch. Thank you in advance.

Re: Model and year?
Gonna need a serial number.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Model and year?
That's an "Original", it was made from 1961 to 1963. The serial number is stamped on the right side of the gear reduction housing. The actual production date can be narrowed down with the serial number.

At least the model number. If nothing else identify the horsepower of the Kohler engine. That will give you the first two digits of the model number.Barnyard wrote:Gonna need a serial number.
Parts diagrams are on line. The parts for early Cub Cadets are pretty much the same for the one's with the manual transmission.
Stuck clutch. Guessing, broken teaser spring, or throw out bearing, or worn out throw out lever, or worn out throw out lever parts.
If you need a new drive shaft, make one from a 3/8" rod from the hardware store. Last time I checked the drive shaft was $122- from IH dealership
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Model and year?
The Original clutch set up is different than the narrow frames that followed it, it will need to be specific for an Original.

The GSS-1291 Blue Ribbon Chassis Service Manual will have instructions. Parts diagrams are online from Cub Cadet.
