Springtime maintenance

Postby BigBill » Sat Jun 06, 2020 11:54 pm

Don’t forget the springtime maintenance on your cub cadet.

The oil change to 30wt oil.

Check your tranny oil.

Check and adjust your brakes.

A new spark plug and points.

Clean or replace the air filter. If your using a pre cleaner foam the inner air filter stays clean. I like to bang the airfilter on a hard surface to see if there is any dirt in it first. but blow it out from the inside. Not using full pressure from a air hose. Keep the air nozzle 6” to 8” away from the filter. I toss the pre filter and replace it with a new one.

Grease the Check your belts

Check the air pressure in your tires.

Check your compression, every used cub cadet had a blown head gasket.

Remember every used cadet that had a scored cylinder had a rotted paper air filter.

Keep your cadet happy, happy for years.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

I find that foam pre cleaner over the standard cadet air filter is cost saving. The foam pre cleaner catches most of the dust and dirt, I shake the orginal cadet filter and no dirt comes out. I blow it out gently from the inside and replace the pre cleaner and it’s good to go.
