Im working on a Cub Cadet 70 with the original motor and the fuel line is POURING gas from the upper nut. Upon closer inspection, you can pull the fuel line out of the nut. Is there a piece missing, or do I need a new fuel line? It is a hard line.
Also, I need a choke Cable and air filter for it, and have found those on the Cub Cadet Specialities website, however I am afraid I won't receive the parts in time to install for Red Power Roundup. Do any of you all know part #'s for those parts so I can purchase locally?

Re: Fuel Leak on a CC 70
With regard to the fuel line, did the ferrule pull off the fuel line, leaving only the nut? I'm not familiar with the CC's, but if it is similar to the regular cub...just a thought. Have fun at Red Power!

I'm not sure dale how that line is or was originally set up. All I did was turn the fuel valve on and out poured the fuel. Then I pulled on the line and it popped out of the nut (it was loose and didn't require much effort). If it originally had a ferrule, I would think it came loose. Haven't removed the nut; but was just gonna go ahead and order replacement line. I haven't found one available yet.

Remove nut, put nut back on line. push line in carb, tighten nut. if the ferrule is ok it should not leak. if it still leaks replace ferrule.

I'm not familiar with these type lines. Are those ferrules replaceable, or will I need to get a new fuel line assembly with ferrules and nuts?jpcubs wrote:Remove nut, put nut back on line. push line in carb, tighten nut. if the ferrule is ok it should not leak. if it still leaks replace ferrule.

Re: Fuel Leak on a CC 70
OK, so I figured out the fuel leak issue. Apparently the "ferrule" is a rubber grommet type part. Does anyone know where I could find that part locally or have a part number? I am scared to use just any universal part that looks similar since this is sealing the fuel line. I'd like it to be the exact part....if it's something available at Napa, O'reilly, etc. I just asked my local parts depot place and they didn't list anything for the part number I found.

Chase

What name would that part be listed under at thebparta store Eugene? Is there a particular size that line is ? Maybe 5/16 inch? I'm not going to be around it until tomorrow evening and I need to get he parts at lunch tomorrow

Re: Fuel Leak on a CC 70
Chase, don't overthink it. Just go ask for a 5/16" ferrule. I don't know if it's supposed to be rubber or brass. Just because it has rubber in it you can probably use brass. Don't over tighten it or the nut will split.
EDIT: I put 5/16" because I was thinking Cub, whatever size your line is ask for that one

Here's a link to the K-161 engine (original to your model 70). There's probably some info in there about the carb and fuel line:

Thanks Stanton, I'll try and pull that up on my phone. That site is blocked here at work. For some reason, the Cub Forum isn't though!

Thank you Indy! I will call the local parts store back to see if they have one. I've just never ran across a rubber one like this design before. I've always just used compression brass fittings.
