Wow!! Cub Cadet Prices on CL

Postby T-Mo » Wed May 29, 2019 6:25 am

129 with cart & plow - $1000. I think this one isn't too bad - those carts are getting harder to find and will cost a few bucks.

Now this one is way over priced! First off - the year is wrong. A 102 was made way before 1972. Does come with a snow plow and has a few new parts, but $1500?

A good checkup, a tune up they’ll last longer than any new garden tractor made today.

I’m thinking as I get older I can’t change attachments. One attachment per tractor.? Two cc mowers 1200/104, one tiller w/ creeper 100, one snow thrower w/ creeper 108, one with snowplow 70/8hp. I have three 154’s and one fcub. Still cheaper than one new one?

Can’t beat the quality of the old iron. Spending $1,000 for a running machine is nothing. Find one cheaper for sure.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

I purchased a cc70 with a new replacement 8hp Koehler for $100 and a cc100 with a replacement 10hp Koehler for $100. Both with mowers, snow throwers and plow. I might have paid too much for my cc 122 but it has a new 12 hp kohler with low hours for $400. All three machines run great. I’m looking at a new mower between 3,500 to 5,000 for a mower.
If I’m going new I want shaft dr mower.

Some people run these tractors into the ground, then they want top dollar. I made one guy a decent offer for one and a half cub cadets plus attachments. He had a 129 with a broken shifter and another hydro tranny in a frame, plus mower, snowblower, tiller, snowplow, I offered him $350 since it all needed work. He scuffed at me no way it’s worth more in parts.
I can’t print what I said in my mind but I gave him more of a price than anyone would. I walked away. A week later he comes to me and says am I still interested? He sold his house quick because the real estate lowballed him. Here he was worried about the price of his cadets and he got a low price on his house. Go figure. I knew I had him hook line and sinker but I backed off and refused to buy it. It’s just the way he scuffed at me. I have enough tractors.

Look at the prices on eBay now.?

Hmm, as much as I like 104s, I wouldn't pay that - maybe a 10th of that price.

It's like always, just because they're asking for those prices, does not mean they're selling at those prices. I have a sneaky suspicion that those machines have been for sale for a long long time, and will continue to be for sale for a long long time.
