One thing. Mike, be careful around the fumes of burning zinc. My father (who was a farmer, not a metal specialist) always told me that galvanized metals give off toxic fumes when burned/welded etc. Since then I've only welded galvanized metal outside on a windy day.

Just watchin' out for ya... that turkey sure looks tasty !!!

I would think that those same toxic fumes would be imparted to the turkey. :shock:

Bob, the spit is stainless but the trash can appears to be galvanized. I have never actually seen this so I don't know. Mike sent the pix so he may know.

according to a metallurgist it will not get hot enough to transfer the zinc to the turkey.
