I Have Em All

Well:

After over a year of searching and buying I think I have em all. Be nice to have their full sized bretheren, but that will have to wait a bit I am athinkin

I now am the proud owner of a full set of 7 Ertl 1/16th scale Cubs from very first to the 2007 RPRU Special Edition Cub.

I think that is all, I do hope so. So far I have already had to swallow the cost of one plus shipping that never did get here. I will still wait for it though, as USPS has just broke the record for the longest wait time to deliver a piece of mail -- 98 years... but it did get delivered. So, maybe one of my grandchildren or great great grandchildren will end up with my missing Cub. :big smile:

So here is the list:

Ertl # 689 Special Edition Serial #1510 1947 Circle Cub - 1985
Ertl # 689 Serial # 0211 - 11-Bar Grille Cub 1954-1959 - 1989
Ertl # 652 Serial # 1571 - 4-Bar Grille Cub 1959-1963 - 1991
Ertl # 653 Serial # 1453 - Yellow and White Short Decal IH Cub - 1964-1976
Ertl # 448 Serial # 1653 - Red IH Long Decal Cub 1976-1979 - 1993
Ertl # 14339 Serial # ? - Yellow and White Long Decal Cub - 1965-1974
Ertl # 14577P Serial # ? - 2007 RPRU Limited Edition Red Farmall Cub.

The only one I am missing now is the IH Cub Cadet 129 to match up with my Cub Cadet.

So here is my question to the experts -- do I actually have them all -- aside from one with the Bear Cub on the seat that is.. which isn't an ertl

That depends on whether you consider the 60th Anniversary packaged yellow & white one a separate model. If you do, then there are ten different ones. There are two different eleven bar grille models. One red...one white. Just like the real tractors. :D

How about that special chrome plated one given to service managers?

One just expired with a $50 opening bid and closed at $75

Way to go and hooray for you Rudi. I know you have to be proud of them. Did you get the decking on the new barn finished yet? Pete

Rudi... I hate to break your bubble, but I believe there are a couple of more Cubs in the Ertl series. I have seen the 1951 Cub but passed it up when the guy wanted $20 for it.

I'm looking for the Ertl# now. I could almost swear it was 690. But I'll keep checking.

Rudi ,

I see you have a y & w 74 long decal 1965-1974 and a y& w short decal 1964-1976.Is this something just for the 1/16 models or did the tractors have decals different during this time frame ? Mines a '74 why I asked.

I believe there are 4 yellow's The cub bear, the short decal, long decal, ans special edition one that I think Don was refering to. That one has a special marking below the HDLC, line. and then theres the red's that you seem to have covered.

Dave,

The first 11 bar grille model represents the late 54-55 Cub model years, with the red grille and completely red hood. The second 11 bar grille model represents the 56-57 Cub model years, with the white grill and white panel under the hood side nameplates. I'll take pictures of all of them in the next day or two and post them.

Here's the first.

Here's the second.
