F14 paint scheme

Postby Cubsox » Fri Sep 25, 2009 9:15 am

My F14 is about to be painted. In the Farmall F series collectors book I see mostly red rims but a few silver rims. Does anyone know if they were originally painted red or silver? Thanks, srj

Mine has red rims but it has cutoffs rather than original rubber. My guess would be that if it left the factory on rubber the rims were silver. If it left on steel, they probably painted everything red after welding the rims to the spokes from the steel wheels.
My opinion only - .

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Good thought. Mine is]not a cutoff. The rim arrived silver and perhaps always has been. thanks, srj
