Terry, It's a Regular. The next time that you are over my way, stop in and you can get a real close look at one.
Thanks,
Buddy

Interesting I just found one locally that i thought was an F-12 hiding in the brush. Now i need to find out if its for sale. Whats a tractor in this condition worth? It looks really bad and rusted. I've heard stories were these can still run great in this condition too.

A Regular was the first tractor I ever operated. I was about 12 years old and can remember having to get out of the seat to reach the clutch.

And I'll bet you learned now to put your thumbs inside the steering wheel too.

Not much. One in very sad condition sold for $600- (way over priced) at auction last fall. My dad had one that was not running about 5 years ago - couldn't give it away - went to the scrap yard.

If you want one - do some research. My guess is that you can buy one in running condition for less than $1000-, probably considerably less.

I spent much of my boyhood on a couple F-12's, working ground, cultivating corn & such. I don't really have very fond memories of those tractors, no interest in owning one today. They don't bring a very high price around here. If you really want one, Bill, you shouldn't have to pay a whole lot for it.

Yes outside looks have very little to do with the interior running condition.

Here is my 1930 and it runs just fine.

This is what it looked like when I purchased it.

Here is my 1928 course it looks a little better but also runs fine.

that is a Farmall regular. It has the muffler below the carb ( kidney Muffler) and it has the open steering gears on the front. The Farmall prototype came out in 1924. they only made 8 then in 1925 & 6 production started. the tractor was called the farmall till the F-20 came out in 1931 and ran till 1938 1/2. then they had to refere to the first farmall as the regular to distinguish them apart. Then the Farmall H replaced the F-20 in 1939.

That's an old Farmall regular. it has the round starting has tank, open steering gears, and the exhaust mainfold points down, not up. Also the air cleaner is different on the regular than the f 20.

The open steering gear pretty much makes it a regular. If you watch this video of ours - (we have owned this since 1929) - Ii think you'll see a direct match for your photo. http://youtu.be/RZ65n5CMS0k. By the way - that's my Dad driving her - he was 10 when that tractor came to our farm. The valve cover is off so we could adjust the valves - this was right after an engine job.

it's a regular. it has the small starting tank, downward exhaust, and the air cleaner is different than a 20.
