I just realized you said that your compression was about 85-90 last time you checked? That is on the low side if i'm not mistaken. Should be up around 125-130. I'd make sure to re-test compression just to narrow down the problem.

Just put everything back the way you found it

If you know your way around the carb then you'll be fine.

ok so the carburetor is prepped and ready to assemble as soon as the kit arrives which should be today :D I looked at the image of the kit itself and noticed it has a little steel ball with it. When I took mine apart there was no little ball bearing anywhere to be found. What is this for? part of the float needle?

Thanks

Todd

Number 39 if I'm correct: http://partstore.caseih.com/us/parts-se ... i980902-39

Part of the choke? Its the only ball on the E12 carburetor I can find, assuming you have an E12.

Wow, havoc that is quite the find. I believe you are right. I rebuilt the carburetor and installed it back on the tractor. Not only does it not fire up....still. It leaks like a hose if the fuel valve is on!!!! :worthy: I believe it to be worse than before. I assembled everything correctly and meticulously. What gives? Its as if it doesnt even have a float at all. Is this common on the super m? Never the less still not even the slightest hint of wanting to fire. So I took the advice of an old wrench head and pulled all the plugs and got a propane torch and hit each cylinder to make sure everything was dry etc. I am quite confident that the fuel is reaching its destination. I had a good pop on each cylinder. Oddly enough the #1 popped like 8 times, enough to blow the torch out each time?? Anyway...... :lost: I am buying a new coil tomorrow as I wonder if it is just wearing out and not throwing enough of a spark? I dont know what else to do. :help:

It leaks fuel when turning or does it just leak fuel when its sitting there doing nothing?

It could be that you have bad spark. I hate to nag on you about this, but did you do that compression test yet? haha.

Problem concerns the needle valve and seat area, float action, etc..

Search this site for "bench testing carburetor" or slightly different wording.

I have explained the process several times, Couldn't find my posts in the "How To" section of this site. Will try to locate my posts.

Bench test is conducted with carburetor top separated from bowl. Bench test will disclose the problem in the needle valve and seat area.

Procedure same, measurements are different.

I have not done a compression check with a guage yet. My brother has my guage. I will do that today or tomorrow morning and let you know.

also as an FYI for all of you trying to help me. The coil gets very hot as I crank trying to get this thing started. I do have a battery charger plugged into it but that shouldnt cause any thing to heat up. I appreciate all of your help

First find that fat blue spark, then if fuel present you will get a positive result.

OK. You have several problems. Suggest tackling one problem at a time, a systematic approach. Start with the compression tests. Then solve the ignition problem and lastly the carburetor.

Hot coil. Ignition coil is a transformer, couple coils/windings of wire. A short within the coil or within the distributor will cause the primary coil winding to heat up. Likely cause, points closed or not functioning properly, such as bad spring.
