Chaper #20, Big M Mounted 2 Row Picker Project

Spring Clean-UP Day, at the IH Round Barn in Country Heritage Park, Milton ON proved very successful. Sweeping, window cleaning, weed eating, grass cutting, scuffing and painting were all the order of the day. Over the course of the morning 5 or 6 of us tackled a donated rusty old M with a mounted 2 row picker on it. This machine is not a runner so our goal was just to scuff her up as quickly as possible and slap on a coat of IH Red and Cream. We needed to make her presentable for summer tourists and the All Colour Show which features IH, on July 20,21,& 22nd etc. With scrappers, wire brushes and one hand-drill wire brush we went at her. Due to a non-cooperative spayer we resorted to brushes and by Noon's lunch, she was half painted. It was amazing how good she was starting to look and by about 3:00PM she was finished; once again proving the old adage that " Many hands make light work!" So get out and support your local IH chapter for the good of the club and you feel good to boot.

Sounds like a fun day. I have a picker I need to get out of this guys shed. It has sat there for over 40 yrs since used last. I want to mount it on my 450 or SM, not for sure yet. Anyway, would love to see a picture??

Sounds like a vaction show in the works, it maybe a lot cooler up there that time of the year that it would be here.

Jason I have a couple of rear axle mounting brackets for an M or 400 2 row mounted picker. Sorry i didn't get those pics down to you. I have just got a new computer so there is still some new hope of that.
