I will be posting photos of a tractor my sisters and I ran across this month while driving from NC to New Orleans. We will see how many photos it takes for someone to identify AND tell the function of this tractor! Good luck!!!

OK, it is an M...Not sure about the MV:

and, according to the guys that owned it, you're close on the purpose, but not quite there!

Nice paint job!
It is a 1953 Super M with the distillate option. It has been converted to a high clearance machine, much higher than a typical MV that would have been used as a conventional cane tractor. It was probably intended as a spray rig or some similar operation.
