carburetor overhaul

I could use a little help on the carb overhaul for a Farmall M and a Farmall H...……..

What is the float height with the carb upside down measured from the case ( no gasket ) to the top of the float... does the drop adjustment really make any difference. .

The overhaul kit came with two different plugs for the bottom of the carb. Do I use the one with a hole in the center or the one that does not have a hole. This is in the center of the carb on the lower section...………
