9000 oil fouled plugs later !!!!

My poor 1950 m she burns a decent amount of oil is there a fix that can stop the plug fouling until i can afford a rebuild kit

No real fix. You can use a hotter spark plug to reduce oil fouling. Another suggestion is to obtain spark plugs with multiple electrodes.

They won't eliminate oil fouling, perhaps prolong the spark plug change interval.

You can do wet and dry compression tests. If compression tests indicate a ring issue, seafoam treatment MAY help. Search compression test and seafoam (or sea foam) on this site and you'll find lots of info.

ok i will do a compression check and see what it says i hope its valve guides or something easier and cheaper than a rebuild kit

Update i found it had champion plugs we got autolites and it runs good but the timing is not off and it is backfiring from the carb but could that be because i have lead substitue and carb cleaner in it to clear it up after sitting 3 years

If it's backfiring through the carb the timing has to be off or you have some intake valves not closing all the way.

Does it only backfire through carb when it has been running a while and hot? If so, it may have some carbon that is getting hot and igniting the incoming air fuel mix before intake valve closes. If it does it cold, you either have timing set too fast, or an intake valve leaking.

just when it gets bogged down or pulling the choke if it starts to quit

fixed !!!!!!!!!!! cleaned the fuel tank out that fixed it
