Ok first off thanks for all answers to the other stupid questions I have asked.
I need to remove the sleeves from the B, how hard are they to come out, I was going to have machine shop make me a puck to fit and then drive out with sledge hammer, will this work?
Thanks
Scott

Re: Sleeve Removal
Outside diameter slightly (thousandsth) smaller than outside diameter of sleeve with a step that's slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the sleeve so it fits inside the sleeve to keep the puck centered. All measurements that should be in the engine spec section of what ever reference you are using.
I don't know that I would recommend using a sledge hammer, a sleeve puller, even a homemade one, is a much better choice with less chance of an errant swing damaging something.

Re: Sleeve Removal
Tractor repair shops have sleeve pullers. See if you can borrow one the correct size. If you can't borrow one have the mechanic come out and pull the sleeves.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Sleeve Removal
I have only had limited experience with wet sleeves, but on the ones I have dealt with a puller was not required. Are you sure you will need one?

Re: Sleeve Removal
I just pulled the sleeves out of a AV that were bad .I got lucky and found a sleeve puller on eBay for $35.00 . It has a hole in the middle ,so I made a top bracket using a head gasket and used bolts to hold in place then tighten up and turn motor over and tapped end of bolt ,then turned over and tighten up .It is a lot easer if you have a motor stand . You may be able to make a flat piece of metal to fit across the bottom of sleeve but it may damage it? I have read about people using a hammer to get out I can't seem to think this is possible .From the experience I had . If you need and more help message me if it is real bad I will send you my cell and we can talk I can send you pictures of the set up if you need to look at it . I had to use a porta power to get the pistons out . I thing someone put something in the block it was corroded bad the oil pan was ate up and all was froze up even the oil pump and can and lifters Billy
