PICTURES ADDED - Value of a IH 4000 Forklift????

Well, my dad finally went and bought a new forklift. The IH 4000 forklift that we have had since new is actually just a bit too big for the new building, and too tough to get into small spaces.

He would like to sell it to recoup some of the cost from purchasing the new forklift. Does anyone have any idea of what it may be worth. I'll have some pictures soon, but it is all original, and has never sat outside a day in it's life. It was purchased from the factory as a forklift. I believe that these went from IH to Haro where the forklift conversion was done.

It has new industrial tires, and everything works on it except the side to side shift on the mast. That valve broke years ago, and we just plumbed around it to take it out of service. It is a gas, 4-cylinder engine, which I believe is the same as was in the Farmall/International 140 tractors. The paint is all original, but it has been used daily since it was purchased new, so it has it's fair share of scrapes and dings.

Any insight will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

I can't help any on value. I can tell you it has the C-135 engine (one notch bigger than a 140, used in 330, 340, 404). It has 4,000# capacity at 24" center. I know of 3 different lift heights.

Dad finally got around to getting some pictures of our forklift. As you can see, it is basically all original, never been painted, but has been kept inside since new. If you know anyone looking for a really cool IH forklift, these are getting pretty hard to find, and this one runs/operates absolutely perfect, except the side shift for the forks.
