Hey Phil...I have not done that myself, but check with a good, local generator/alternator rebuild shop. I use one here in Athens, TN (Wayne's) who gives farmers same-day rebuild service at no additional charge!

Can I just remove the alternator and leave the other connections the same?

Phil...To change your BN from a 12 volt negative ground system back to a 6 volt positive ground system you'll need to change:

12 volt battery to 6 volt...12 volt alternator to 6 volt generator & regulator...12 volt starter to 6 volt starter...12 volt coil to 6 volt coil...12 volt light lamps to 6 volt lamps...You're virtually swapping out most of the electrical system

In other words, there is an expense involved in order for you to change it back to its original 6 volt system. If you're not a purest, or don't care about the "correct police"...it'll be a lot cheaper to leave it just the way you've got ir now :!:

I have finished photo's of our 45 BN on Coppermine. Maybe if someone has access they can post them here for me. Have not mastered that yet.

Right on Bigdog! I was just e-mailing GW and told him how much my wife likes this one. Just got the hood on and she asked if she could take it for a spin. OK I said , Followed her almost the whole way, like a father sending out his firstborn. When she got in the drive she said to me . See! I can drive a tractor. I did'nt even say anything,I guesss the walkbehind was alittle louder than anything I could have said, She know me pretty well.
