I have another question, considering this is going to be on short notice, with not enough time3 to order any special hardware, how do you tie down the front of a B? the rear is no problem.

There are some tapped holes in the front casting. I threaded in a couple of tie-down rings.

Off hand, do you know the thread size of those tapped holes?

Mine has a tapped 5/8-11 hole on each side. I confirmed by threading in a 5/8-11 tap.

Borrow the third ramp from EJP or some one closer. Doesn't have to be the same length as other ramps, just attach to the trailer.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Eugene, me and John are headed up to get it - he's borrowing one of his neighbor's bigger trailers - one has a third ramp, which is the one I think we're using.

Terry and John stopped by a few minutes ago on their way home. Looked over the B and loader. Appears to be a sound tractor, very good deal for $1100-.
I have an excuse. CRS.

We got it home safe. But, to get it off the trailer, John had to jerry-rig the starter a bit since the starter switch would not make contact with the lug on the starter. But, he told me how to fix that.

A couple of pictures at the last rest stop before we got it to my place.

Oh, btw, it's a '44 from the serial number and the loader is a Henderson.

I wonder if a modern bucket could be used to replace the small bucket. I know it all has to center around the weight behind the rear wheels. I never really understood why the antique buckets were so small. I have a pretty good idea now and wonder if you could design into the existing loader and make it that much more useful. Kind of like a Johnson loader and bucket.

Buckets were small due to limited power, limited counterbalancing weight and limited hydraulic efficiency. If you need a bigger bucket, you should think about a bigger tractor.
