Side plate breather

I'm doing a refresh on my newly acquired 1951 H and would like to make sure the crankcase breather is clean. Do I have to remove the side plate to clean the baffle or can I unbolt the tube from the outside and clean it?

I think that to do a proper job you will have to remove the side plate. I don't think just removing the tube will help.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Thanks, John. I've put it on the list of "to do's" :)
