Brake lining for an H

Postby Bob McCarty » Wed May 04, 2016 7:37 pm

Dusty asked me if I could reline his H brake bands at the Bash. Does anyone know the width, length, and thickness of the H linings (or where to get that info)?

Thanks, Bob

Bob,

My H is a 1948 and best I can measure is two inches wide, 3/16 inches thick. length is about 26 inches. Will see if I have any pubs with the actual specs as I think they broke to different specs after certain serial numbers.

Appears to me from what little is left that the linings are actually in 2 sections, each 12" long! Sent Bob a pm w/rivet hole size. Hope this works out. Thanks, Dusty B

What's the follow-up on this? Did you get the brake bands relined and what were the sizes?

We could use this info here for future SEARCH reference. Thanks. :coffee:

Stanton, Dusty was unable to attend the Bash and decided to purchase replacement bands.
