In 1954 we moved from near Owensville, Mo., to near Potosi, Mo. Dad put the buzz saw on the front of the 41 H (now known as EJ), hooked a one row pull type cornpicker behind it, and a 4 wheel wagon behind that. On the wagon was both a flat hay bed, with a corn bed setting on top of it. In the bed was a plow, disk, cultivator, corn planter, as well as the little furniture we had at the time. Due to the hills, gearing of the H, and limited horse power of an H, much of the trip was made in 4th gear, which is a top speed of 5mph. It took all of one day and part of another to make the 60 mile trip, with Mom and I following in the Model T.
In 1964 we moved from the farm we were renting to one we had just bought. The move was one mile, and much of it was done once again with EJ pulling the wagon to move things.
Now 44 years later Mom has moved one more time, since she is no longer able to stay by herself, and we have moved her to a mobile about 10 feet from my house. The move was half a mile, and thanks to the great folks on this forum EJ has done the job one more time. 2 trips yesterday, and another one today.
Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.
