Mike - H's are as plentiful as cubs and I see them go for actually less than cubs a lot of the time. $700 - $1000 for one in running condition. Up to about $1500 give or take for nice ones and then restored ones perhaps a little more depending on the area.

The H my grandpa bought had good usable rear tires on new rims, an alternator instead of a generator, no battery box or lights, new front tires on good rims, and the sheetmetal was good. It ran really well, and had a live distributor drive hydraulic pump with it. He gave $700 for it. Them he had a generator rebuilt, the cooling fan rebuilt, lights installed, starter rebuilt, and a good service and wash. This all cost another $700. Now he has $1400 in it and still does not have it painted or have a battery box.
Around here a non running H with bad tires would not bring over $300 to $400 on a good day.

to what has already been said, but if it needs rear tires, they are one of the more sought after sizes used, and new expect to pay form 200 each (if very lucky) to 350 each.

I have four good used rears for an H (12.4X38). Real good shape but not new. I just put new tires on all mine. Paid $325 a tire for Firestone Field and Roads. I would like to get $325 out of a pair of real good used ones if he is interested.
For the tractor the way it is, I think ~$400 and this is because scrap price is up.

Dang I hate to say this, but the H is probably worth much more at the scrap dealer than as a fixer upper tractor. The H should weigh in around 3000 lbs or 1 1/2 ton.
H's, in this area, in running/working condtion go for some where around $1000-. Sometimes a bit more or less. It's pretty hard to suggest that someone purchase a nonrunning H, needing tires.
I have an excuse. CRS.
