how can it be done , i know i could try and find a pricey dist drive after market hyd pumpbut i already messed that one up as far as gettin the right part . can i get parts off of the front end of a motor from a super h or a 300 ,will either one work . if thats the case i could do that and pipe it into the belly pump resevoir . which parts would be needed the 3 gears and front timing cover as well as the dist drive portion ? i figure now is the time if any to do this work because the front bolster and wheels will be comin off real soon so i can get it all cleaned up in the front . :{_}:thanks for any help

You need the timing gears and front housing along with the 300 pump. You can then strip down the belly pump and use it as the reservoir. It can be done pretty easily. It may cost you a bit at the bone yard for everything though.

Grandpa has a live dist. drive pump that he does not plan to install. I have no idea what they are worth, so if you are interested give me a fair offer to pass on to him and we will see what happens.

I've done then mod. Cost approx. $300.00 Go to steelwheelranch.com and call them. He will have all the parts. Don't forget the steel spacer behind the timing cover as it is off by one hole also. You will a reservoir that provides flooded suction. I removed the belt pulley and mounted a 3gal SS tank there with filter. I have pics if you would like to see my mod.

so i got a live hydraulic pump for the h , i looked at it sittin where it needs to be and it looks like it was gonna interfere with the oil filter housing , so i put the dist in place and sure enough it was in the way . i am not sure how every one who used this behlen 201 live hyd. pump got around this problem but the only way i figured out was a right angle distribuator . any one have a better idea . also i read some where that they made 2 different behlen 201 pumps , one clock wise and one counter clock wise , can any one shed some light on this

This would not apply to an H, but on the M, SM, etc diesels the distributor turns the opposite direction. That would require a reverse direction pump.

MD turned reverse, but didn't M and SM both turn same as H?

I am still working toward this project , I know it has been a while but I have made more headway in the past 2 weeks than the past 6 years , I guess with how you have your 3 point setup that you don't use the original swinging drawbar any more , is that correct or wasn't it installed before these pictures were taken ?

Brian, Bill Poor is no longer on the forum. He switched to orange tractors (AC). He lives near Earl. Earl might be able to give you contact info for Bill.

I can confirm with the 3PTH for the H and M replace the regular drawbar setup.

Since both clamp to the rear axle, you could put the lift cylinders on quick connects if you feel like switching between the two.
