I need to replace the seal on my liftall pump shaft, but I'm having trouble unscrewing the drive lug. The I&T manual says turn it CCW, but I am wondering if that is a misprint. does anyone know?

I vaguely recall reading somewhere about bonking it with a deadblow or rubber mallet to break it loose if it doesn't just screw out. It probably tightened up over the years.

Since the pump was in pretty bad shape, and the drive was about impossible to remove I got another one.

John, You can make a tool from an old drive coupling that can be used with an impact gun. I've had several of those pumps here and most leaked out that seal. Some severly. Best thing I ever done was junk them all and install a live pump. It can be done for as little as $300.00 and you'll never look back. I gave a friend of mine 3 to take out to King's last yr. They were just scrap metal to me.

agreed, the live pump is better, but for sentimental reasons I wanted to keep it as close to the way I remembered it as possible.
