Problem solved

Postby ShawnAgne » Mon May 22, 2023 6:12 pm

Checked the plugs for fouling and gap and everything was ok. But something seemed weird. So I put the inline spark tester on my 100 and noticed the spark was brighter and more consistent. So that led me back to the ignition system. Pulled off the distributor cab and the metal tab on the rotor fell right off. It had corroded and snapped off and the leads on the cap were corroded. So it was making contact intermittently but was a very week spark and probably was getting to the plug but not making the gap.

SO I'll get a new rotor and cap tomorrow and hopefully will be good to go.

Put the new rotor and cap on and if fired right up. Actually way better than it had been. Guess after 68 years it needed replaced............
