I'm doing an in frame overhaul on my 1944 H, as long as I have the pan off thought I might take a look at the oil pump. The photos I've seen of pumps on a bench look as though two bolts holds the pump in Place. I'm assuming if you remove those bolts the pump should come out. Any words of wisdom on R / R of the pump, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much
Grizz

Re: Farmall h oil pump
It should just pull out. I just pulled one out of a 350U and had to tap on it due to rust from being full of water.

Grizz, do you have a copy of the Parts Manual to use while going through the restore? It has an exploded view of the oil pump, which would help you.
Thought we used to have it in the PDF Manuals, but I don't see it. Send me a private message with your email address and I'll send you the file.

Grizz, take a look at the Messicks web site - it has a lot of blow-up diagrams of most of the systems on the H. Invaluable resource if you don't have a parts manual. Here's the link:

Jim and Stanton
I have two service manuals and a parts manual. Both service manuals show exploded views of the pump, but no explanation on how you take it out. I just wanted to be sure when I started pulling on it, I wasn't going to break something. Just getting started on a frame up restoration so I'm sure I will be back for a little more of your expertise. I really appreciate the all the information, this forum is a great resource.

I posted a couple of Parts manuals to the newsgroups. About a year-and-a-half ago. Go on binsearch and type in
Pok it is me
Put the settings at 250 per page and 1100 days back. I posted it within the last 2 years. You can also try typing in international harvester. If I am correct I posted two separate manuals maybe three
https://www.binsearch.info/?q=Pok+it+is ... =&min=1250
Look for international harvester 485 days back...will change from today's date...2,18,19
Favorite quotes by me. If you want to you can but if you don't you wont... most possibly yes but maybe no.... and as always buy guns keep America free
