My first & bad Steiner order experience

Postby Song » Mon Feb 22, 2010 8:53 pm

I ordered some small items from Steiner Tractor Parts. I ordered 3 head light gaskets for the SA and one (to test) head light reflector. The 3 gaskets are just what I wanted. The reflector came spotty and dirty. I used a dry terry cloth to remove the smudges and the reflective material came of of the reflector and on my hand and the cloth.

Very disappointed with the reflector purchase so anyone looking for them do not get the Steiner ones. I emailed them about this reflector. I don't expect them to take care of it but they'll know it was junk when it arrived.

That will be my last order from them and I'll tell everyone I can find to avoid them because they sell junk.

Terry, Just looked at their website. http://www.steinertractor.com/warranty.aspx They have a 30 day return policy. You might want to follow up on that and try to get some bucks back. If you paid by credit card, you might also want to notify them that there is a dispute underway.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Whew, that's a lot worse than some reflective material rubbing off

I bought several hundred dollars worth of parts from Steiner for the JD I done last winter, a few for our Ford and some for my M with more to follow. I've had a couple issues but they've ALWAYS stepped up to the plate and made it right and then some. Good people...and a great resource for tractor enthusiasts of all colors. Big Dog is right, patience is a virture.

But all companies should try and not sell items that are of shoddy workman ship. It leaves a bad mark on them in the minds of buyers no matter how much patience they have.
