The only potential issue I can think of is the water pump on the 135--is it behind the fan or down low to the left as on a 100-130? I can't remember how the radiator hoses hook up between the two styles. Other than that things should bolt right up. I know of a 230 puller with a 153 out of a combine in it...... it'll pull a 3 bottom plow too....

I think there were 2 different engine blocks used for the 135. I don't think the same block will bolt up to a 330 bell housing and a 140 bell housing.

I called the IH dealer today and my parts guy said it may not hook up at the front, I think I will take it out and see what it looks like I am not going to do anythig with the 330. I want to make that SA turn some tight ground
Thanks for the replies David

You're going the wrong way on that deal. The 330 is a pretty rare model, about 4,200 made compared to around 100K Super As.

Dave,
I'm a little late on this as I recently joined but the 330 C135 will not fit the Super A because the bellhousing as Jim told you (Good to see you over here too Jim :D ). If it were from a 404 it would fit in a 140 though as it would match on the bell housing and the new style water pump and accessories up front. If you really want a C135 in the Super A you need to switch over to the new style accessories and get a 140 radiator as well (which would require a Super A-1 grill and gas tank since the 140 is taller than the Super A). Also a C135 from a power unit should fit as I think they all came with the narrower bell housing but not sure on that :?:

The C135 is a strange beast as there are two flavors based on the insides (early vs late 330/404 diff crank journal sizes and 9 vs 14 bolt heads) and two flavors based on the outsides (narrow and wide bell housings). You also need to watch because some crankshafts are not drilled for the pilot hole that the clutch shaft needs.

If you want to boost the Super A a little go for a head/manifold/carb/air cleaner from a 140 and put a new sleeve set in your existing block (either 3-1/8 or 3-1/4 overbore depending on whether you have the 251069 or 354898 block). If you are parting out the 330, it should have the same 9 bolt head as the 140 so you could use that, but not sure on the manifold and the carb would be a force fit. That head has a smaller chamber, larger valves and larger ports than yours.
Hope that helps...

David,
I'm probably 90-100 miles on the other side of Richmond, halfway between Fredericksburg and Warrenton. I don't know Randolph either but sounds like you are close to Rice Salvage? He was near South Boston and I have been there a couple times. Bill always had alot of small Farmall stuff, but I'm thinking more Super A size than the Cubs? Are you familiar with his place?
