when preping hood do you smooth over the seam where tank and hood are spot welded or leave seam

I guess that would depend on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are restoring to original condition, leave the seam. If you want to make a very sleek tractor with an automotive paint finish etc. filling the seam makes for a very sharp looking tractor. Are you afraid of the Correct Police??????

I left the seam , however I had removed the spot welds, because the original hood was crooked , rewelded it together straight. painte automotive finish with clear coat. Looks good,
also left the weld lines where the gas tank is welded on.
Don't fill them completely , gives it style.
