I don't see the pressure valve, the part that screws into the manifold. The control valve is present, as is the cylinder and the control rod assembly. I see what appears some, if not all, of a rockashaft for an attachment. You may have a few parts to get yet. Jim Becker will be able to tell you what you don't have and what you will need. 8)

Between all four of those pictures, you still can't see anything. I can't add much to what Bud said. Looks like the pressure valve end of the pipe that crosses over to the control valve is rusted off, no surprise. The rockshaft looks like one for a rear mounted plow, possibly for a 2-way plow.

If you guys come across any other parts for the exhaust lift give me a jingle.
I have the control valve and the cylinder. So everthing else is in need.
Good on you Jostev. I was planning to bid but chose not to . Local pick up was the problem.

They are pretty cool, from what I've heard they are pretty rare, they can also be mounted in 2 different positions....

Yes  I AM missing the valve that goes on top of the manifold, so ifn anybody knows where I could find one, I woould appreciate it a bucnh :!:

I am gonna take more/better pictures this afternoon... I hope to bring down the B and get the rockshaft mounted maybe and see ifn it will work to lift the JD #5     lol

Jostev, I may have some of the parts you need. I have the flapper valve that goes on top of the manifold, but I'll check its condition tomorrow. The trouble with those castings is that they are so brittle and easily broken. It's very difficult to separate the valve from the manifold. I may have some other parts, I'll look in the barn tomorrow. Post some pics to better show what you have.

That's neat! I never seen an exhaust lift before . How does it work? Also, are thay rare?

TF1, The valve at the top of the manifold diverts the exhaust gas from the manifold to a large cylinder next to the seat. The cylinder rod is connected to the rockshaft which lifts the plow. The cylinder can also be mounted vertically to raise cultivators. I have the parts but I haven't mounted them on the Farmall B yet

Somewhere or other, but I don't remember where, Jim Becker made a post about making a repair to the manifold diverter valve flap. It might be in the older posts, or somewhere else....like I said, I don't really recall right now.

I'm sorry, but my mind's not really as clear as it should be these days.

George Willer has some experience with them as well. I once asked him if I could use them to pick up a 3 pt hitch if I installed one on my A. He said yes, if I didn't have too heavy an implement. I was thinking about a york rake or something similar. Since then, however, I've decided to pursue it with a hydraulic conversion, with a belt driven pump.

I understand that the leather "boot" inside the big piston can get dried out, and that it was important to squirt some oil into it from time to time, and also not drain the water (from accumulated exhaust condensation) from it more than necessary (like in winter).....as the water kept the leather freshened.

That's about all I know about them....

Thanks Tom and ljw....

ljw, if you want to sell the valve and manifold, I might buy it ifn it's for sale.... I have good manifold, but it has the oooold exhaust pipe or something welded to the top of it, so I couln't thread anything in it.... but the manifold is in good condition

Thanks, Johnny
