I am going thru boxes of parts from our farming days, we had 5000 acres in southeast idaho with over 2 dozen tractors. I found an NOS tachometer similar to the one shown here (pic is of a repop) that is the real deal - not a repop, and was purchased new from the local dealer in the early 80's. It was stored in our parts area since, which is dry, low humidity, and a constant 50 degree temp. Any ideas what this might be worth? It appears to be no longer available thru the dealer, so I cannot see what the new price would even be. I see repops from $80 and up. I'm not looking to sell here, just trying to determine its value so when I do sell it I dont give it away nor price it without being somewhat educated.
Thoughts?

Best suggestion I could come up with is to put it on ebay and let it bid up to market price.
Other option is to put a high buy it now price on it and drop the price each week.

I'd say check ebay, hard to put a value on something like this for a specific tractor. You have to find that one person looking for one.

Thanks. I've been searching current and previous eBay listings and have not seen an nos original. So finding a comp is pretty tough. It does fit many other IH tractors...we bought it for one of our 560s. I'll make sure to list all that it fits if I do list it...was hoping for a ballpark area prior to doing that.
Since rebuilds are $250+ along with an $80-$100 core from what I've seen...i don't think $500 is unreasonable. Thoughts? Hope the photos help anyone restoring theirs and wanting to see original markings and hardware....

Here's a NOS one listed for $275 and I think that is high. I don't see anybody paying $500 for one.
