Super Wide C ?
Didn't they make an optional set of rear axles for a C that made it very wide? I read in the owners manual they also made 2 widths of wide front axles. I don't know much about C's but think I found one with the wide wide front and rear axles. I'd hope someone knows what I'm talking about so they can help me identify them. Thanks Brandon

Re: Super Wide C ?
Is there a parts catalog online? I found the owners manual here and saw they made 88 and 100 inch rear axles. These are pretty rare aren't they? I saw a set for sale one time for big bucks. Would be neat to put one together. The tractor I found appears to have the wider front axle also. I'll post some pics if I can figure out how. Was this a Farmall C or just Super C option? Thanks

Re: Super Wide C ?
I haven't paid super close attention, but most C-230s around here (eastern NC) seem to have had 88" axles to straddle two tobacco rows.

Re: Super Wide C ?
Would C and Super C be the same? I found a C parts book in dads garage it shows the part numbers and measurements of all parts. The rear stock is 80 inches, special is 88 inch and 100 inch. The front axle wide front list a 46 3/8ths wide and a 40 3/8ths wide. Same tie rods for both axles.

Re: Super Wide C ?
Well crossed the wide tread attachment part numbers from the Super C owners manual to the regular C parts manual and they are the same so the parts must be the same also. The 100 inch has a different axle housing unlike the 88 inch that just uses a longer axle in the stock casting.

Re: Super Wide C ?
yeah, I've never paid attention to those 2-row tractors much, but have had alot of interest if the ones I have were 100 inch. I figured they must be rare. I still haven't measured them........

Re: Super Wide C ?
I have the 1952 Super C my father purchased in 1952. It has the wider rear axle. The dealer (Lowe Implement of Mullen, Nebraska...long gone dealer) wanted to charge my father more for the wide rear end. My father said, "Go get your hacksaw and chop them off." He got the tractor with the wide rear axle without any additional charge. I do have the wider axle for one side. I replaced on axle on my 1951 Super C that had mismatched axles. It now has two of the shorter axles.
