Postby Curranfarm2016 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 9:11 pm

I just bought my uncles 1956 200. And it has half tracks on it. I got no information on it and he has passed away. They are in good shape I just want a general history of who made them and how they should be matained

If you google "arps half tracks" you can find some brochures and info. It looks like the down side to them is that you need to brake to turn and that wears out the brakes faster. One of the other forums had a discussion about whether the half tracks or chains gave better traction. And welcome to the Forum. There are a couple of guys that have them on Cubs, but they aren't on the Forum very often.

I have never had any personal experience with them, but I have heard from different sources that they worked better if rear tires were about half worn out. Supposeddly they did not want to climb out of the track as badly with a worn tire.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
