Distributor advanced timing

Postby shady-lane » Sat Apr 16, 2016 8:01 pm

I understand static timing is TDC and the point gap is .020
What is the spark timing for wide open throttle, under a load ?

If your advance weights & springs are in good shape and properly lubed, the timing should advance to 16 deg. BTDC.

Thanks.
I needed the info for restoring a 1951 C
On a side note, I made a pointer and put a mark on the crank pulley.

16 degrees is the spec for a Cub. A C with original design pistons should be 30. If it has Fire Crater pistons it should be 25 or 22 (depending . . .).

My bad! I didn't notice that this was posted in the C - Super C forum. Thanks, Jim for the correction.
