Need help identifying parts

Postby KevinRunnels » Wed Oct 07, 2015 12:44 pm

Hello, all. I recently acquired a new home place and was cleaning up behind one of the barns, when I ran across some old Farmall equipment. I was told that all of this stuff originally went on a Super C, but have no idea how accurate that information is. The middle buster, packing wheels, and rear hub are all that I can identify. The rest of the equipment appears to be front and rear cultivator attachment frames(?). I believe the rear end is from either a C or Super C as well. Any ideas on what I have and what it might be worth to someone? It's too good to go to the scrap yard, and I would like to see it go to someone who would be able to use it. There's just not that many people around where I live (Central Mississippi) who use Farmalls any longer.

Any help identifying these parts (and possible values) would be greatly appreciated.

That does appear to be a operator's platform/trans. assembly for a C or Super C. Where is the rest of it (motor, front bolster, etc.) :?: The rest of the pics show parts and pieces to what looks a set of cultivators and/or planter attachment.
I see a disc plow in one pic and a middle buster in another.

I am North of you in Pope (Panola County), about 7 miles South of Batesville.

I have no idea where the rest of it is. That's how it was sitting behind the barn when I bought the place. There's no telling how long it or any of the other items have been there. I found some parts to a sickle bar mower, planter plates, galvanized tubing, chain pieces, and front end weights in one of the barns. Who knows...if I keep digging around, I may find the rest of the tractor....
Yep, you're a little north of me. I live about an hour south of Jackson.

Just that platform/transmission section you have is a nice cache of parts.

The rear part of a tractor is a C and not the super C. The shape of the clutch petal gives it away. There should be a plate on the side of the tool box with the serial number on it.

The plate on the side of the toolbox is all but bare. There are two sets of numbers stamped on it:
64292 on the left and 1815 on the lower right side.

Any ideas on what a fair price would be for everything? Like I said earlier, it's too good to go to the scrap yard, but I have no use for it.

Hey Kevin! I'm the one who contacted you about your CL ad about maybe some of the parts. Didn't know you were a member on here. :-) I have cult frame and got rid of a mostly complete middle buster not long ago. That's why I was only interested in some of your stuff. I need to come take a look, but I won't be available until next week

Hey, Thomas. I joined here to try and figure out what all I had, but have had lots of fun browsing the forums. I'm in no rush, so you take your time and come look whenever it's convenient for you. I won't get rid of anything until you have had a chance to see if there is anything here you may need/want.

It's a C because it has band/drum brakes.
If your brake bands are in nice shape, I'd love to buy them from you.

Do you have the cast iron flat belt pulley next to the PTO shaft?

The little "lever thingies" on top of the brake band covers are the pawls to engage/disengage the fertilizer & planter drive sprockets.
These have been bringing BIG money on ebay:

See if you can find these lying around in your "junk":

I seriously doubt the brake bands are in usable condition. I don't recall seeing a flat band pulley next to the pto, but I did find one in the old barn. Don't know if it's the part you mentioned, but I can take a pic of it and post it here. I can't say that I have the counter shaft throwout parts, but, then again, I wouldn't have know what they were. I'll keep my eyes open for them.

You'll never know until they see the light of day again. You might be surprised.

Thomas, the pleasure was all mine! I greatly appreciate all the information you gave me. Hopefully, I'll be able to retain it. You are welcome at my place any time! Maybe next time we'll have enough time to properly plunder the property. Lol
Let me know if the bracket will fit and I'll see about getting it to you.
