JOSH:
The Farmall Super C is a GREAT tractor ! I have a 1949 Farmall C and I LOVE it ! A very usefull tractor indeed ! The first thing I would do is purchase a copy of the OWNER's MANUAL and read it; carefully. You will want to change all the fluids since you don't know what the prior owner has done. Change the oil in the air cleaner, wipe it clean first. Install new spark plugs, etc.
A good way to determine what condition that your tractor is in would be to have it tested on a dyano to see how much HP it puts out. This is a fairly safe way of determining the engines condition without harm to the tractor. If you are lucky and have a local tractor club they might have one for the use of club members.
A great addition to that Farmall Super C would be a FAST HITCH. You could go from a straight drawbar tractor to one that has almost unlimited possibilities with implements.
SEND US SOME PHOTOS.

Good Luck !

I agree about the fast hitch on the Super C. I have an early Farmall 200 (1954) which is almost the same as a Super C. It has a fast hitch which I use almost every time I start the tractor. The only thing I don't like about the smaller point fast hitch on these tractors is that the implements are a little harder to find.

Have fun restoring your SC.Mine was given to me by a friend whose wife wanted to scrap it after it had set for 18 plus years in the same spot along side their driveway.Searched the internet and came up with the parts needed and a wealth of information.Rebuilt rear axle, had a broken axle and full of water. Now I use it almost everyday with the front end loader and the three point fast hitch I converted to category 2 hitch.
