Transmission Trouble
Something in the transmission has started making a terrible noise. It's worst in reverse. Does anyone have the repair manual that details getting into, repairing and reassembly for the Super C transmission? I would like to borrow long enough to scan. I checked on the forum manual list and found the operators manual but not the detailed repair manual.

Re: Transmission Trouble
Thanks, Don. I have the parts manual and owners manual. Hopefully someone has a copy of the repair manual I can borrow.

Re: Transmission Trouble
Manual GSS5031 is available from Binder Books for about $22.
It's a licensed reproduction so you don't have to worry about the copyright police storming your house in the middle of the night and dragging you off to Gitmo.

Re: Transmission Trouble
Matt, the A & B transmission "looks" more like a Cub style transmission where the SC transmission "looks" more like an H. There are no final drives on a SC. Binder Books is faxing me some info from the manual on the Farmall 200 which certainly "looks" like a SC. Hopefully that will help.

Re: Transmission Trouble
Yes, except internally, the A/B/C transmissions are identical.
The covers, differentials and final drives may differ, but the transmission (4 forwards and 1 reverse) is indeed the same.

Re: Transmission Trouble
Thanks Matt. Appreciate that info.
Matt, do you (or anyone out there) know what the difference is between the SC and the 200? Or should I direct that to Jim Becker? Thanks.

There may be some minor differences, like a gear ratio change or something. You would have to check the parts catalogs for that detail. But they are basically the same.
