the 2nd C (fake SC)

Postby Former Member » Sat Mar 05, 2011 11:10 am

Thought I would post a couple pictures of the 2nd C (fake SC) It came with a set of 2 row cultivators.

It was a close fit on the trailer. Yes it was safe and secure. The strap is fastened into heavy tie downs welded to the frame of the trailer, and parallel with the center of the wheels. I also had several other straps cross tying and securing it. I would have preferred to get it further forward, but with the fenders could not. I opted for transferring weight out of the bed of the truck and putting it and the front sections of the cultivators as far forward on the trailer as possible. It balanced the trailer perfectly.

Well Don, I need to find a home for it, but am thinking I might part it out.

Jan wants me to keep the first one, because I like it so much and, if I put in a big corn plot, the 2 row cultivators will come in handy.

#1 has rear tires that hold air, and have good tread, but the sidewalls near the rim are peeling in places. #2's wheels and tires are in good shape, and need to be put on #1, if I plan to keep it.

Then we have the motor swap issue. They swapped motors from the A to the C and the C to the A. Same motor except the block on the C(out of the A), has no hydraulic ports. Also the pump and lines are missing.

Both motors have issues, which I have not investigated yet.

I would like to get the A functioning good, as there is more of a call for them here than the C.

So, if I swap the wheels from one C to the other, and keep the 3 pt hitch AND the 2 row cultivators, and leave the C motor on the A(block off the hydro port), that would leave me with a #2 C with a lot of good parts, but no hydraulics, and a #1 C in great original shape.

The only things I won't sell, are My Wife, My Dog, and the tractors and implements I have giiven to Jan(cause i can't sell her stuff) :big afro:

I am always open to suggestions and offers.

Dale

I need to do some investigating on the #2 C. It has no serial # tag, BUT, I need to look closer for white paint. If the letter codes are the same as for Cubs, It falls into the range I believe. It's date code is 1-25-S

I'm interested in the C, but given the above situation, it will not be much use if the hydrualics are inoperable.

Bud, I am all for swapping the C block back into it., then it would just need the Hyd pump and lines.

I have a spare good block for the A motor, so taking the C motor off from it and swapping back, is just a matter of doing it. The po said the C motor was working good, and while he was mowing, started making a lot of noise. He seems to think the crank may be broken, but did not investigate. I also have a good crank for the C motor. Just needs polished.

When are youcoming to get it? :big afro: :big afro:
