Of all things to go wrong on my super C all the teeth were stripped from my
oiler gear. Its on the shaft with all the speed gears. I've read everything in
my shop manual and its not making a lot of since to me. I do know that I have to
break it in half at the gear housing. I haven't found anything that is clear on
how to disconnect the drive shaft there and I don't want to guess and make a
mess of it. Also its not clear on how to get the gear out. Once place I read
said that I have to remove the top (sliding) gears through the top of the
housing and then remove the lower speed gears, which means loosening the
differential and removing the rivet at the back of the top shaft. I thought that
I had read that the gear could shaft could be slid out the front of the housing
and and the gears taken off that way. I'm in the middle of planting my food
plots and have to get this done right away. Is there anyone out there that can
help me with some much needed advice?
