Brought home a new toy

This morning I drove my new Farmall C home it is a 1949 according to the serial number. We mounted the plows this morning so I could see how it was done. It has the radiator shutters. She starts right up and runs good. Uses a little oil, But I imagine I will too when I turn 59. I need to find a short that discharges the battery if it remains connected after shut down and the generator isn’t charging. For now I am just pulling the ground wire off until I get it figured out.

It belonged to a good friend. He used it around the farm to rake hay, run a hammer mill and general utility work. His wife just mowed pasture with it last week. My friend is currently undergoing chemotherapy and his farm will be sold next week. I told him that he can use the tractor anytime he needs to.

I stopped by my mom’s house on the way home. She approved. However, she told me it needed a bath. The big surprise will be when my wife comes home after her weekend get away :||): I bet she finds a new place to hide the checkbook

Looks like a good find. most likely your battery drain is a sticking relay on the cutout or regulator, which ever it has.

Nice find. Looks to be an arrow straight C. Love to find one like that for myself.

Dan I guess John could if he wanted to. Yet he is not that kind of guy. I probably hit the wrong button, and only thought I sent it. In a couple of weeks I will be through with the 3/4 century and started on the next 3/4 so I do strange things often. Latest was "Bev where is my cell phone?" "Did you look in your pocket!" Well you know the rest.

Dan i do too but the CRS has set in so heavily it frightens me. The frightening part is in spite of the CRS I remember better than I have all my life. Must be the Cubbitis.

That is a good looking tractor. I like the plow setup. Maybe your wife will go easy on you?
