230 hydrolic oil
What type of oil does the 230 take ? Hytran ? And where is the filler ? I just rebuilt the governer on this tractor too , just got it running again and notice the hydrolics are making a sound from time to time when it's a cold start . Not a noise that is continuous but intermittent. It is definitely in the hydrolic system . Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Re: 230 hydrolic oil
Hytran or equivalent, same as in all the discussions of hydraulic oil for a Cub.
As I recall, the reservoir is integral to the torque tube with the filler and drain(s) close behind the bell housing portion of the casting.

Re: 230 hydrolic oil
A 240 is listed as 5-1/2 quarts. It may be about the same or less, certainly not more.
