Ok, been 3 years this summer since I got my 100, so starting to lay the groundwork with the wife on getting another tractor, probably two years out. Going to get a 200, as I already have the 100 and 300, and want the whole series.
So what I'm wondering is it a pretty hand tractor as far as mowing? I mow with all of them. Love the size of the 100, but the 300 turns better. 200 looks like it would be the best of both worlds. Am I correct?

Re: Farmall 200 question
It is one generation past my super c but i will say you are calling it right. Enough torque, very nimble, comfortable and lots of options because of the 3 dimensional fast hitch. Even more versatile if you have the 3 pt conversion arms. The only negative I have is the front end is a little light but you can weight it up with a DIY rack and some front wheel weights. I have finish mowed with a 6 footer and brush hogged with a 5 footer (both tow behind and 3 point) in fields with 4 foot weeds and brush and it never falters. The only reason I got a larger, wide front tractor was I get a little nervous on slopes with high weeds and chuck holes.

Re: Farmall 200 question
If you want to use a sickle mower, a rear mount on any of the C family is hard to beat.

Re: Farmall 200 question
Yeah I live on 3.5 acres of flat ground. I have a ditch in my yard and mow down to the tracks but it isn't that steep.
Now just have to start saving some money away and keep prepping the wife for the addition

Re: Farmall 200 question
We used to mow all of our hay with a Farmall Super C. Did it that way for 25/30 yrs. We have since switched to a New Holland 477 Haybine that rarely plugs with the added benefit of the conditioner rollers that speed the dry time by a day or 2. If your just mowing pastures the sickle bar is great and you don't need a big tractor that burns a lot of fuel.

Re: Farmall 200 question
Just mowing grass/yard, and then the side ditches.
Funny story about 3 years ago I'm mowing with the 300 and wife is out hanging laundry. She stops and says, "Oh look, the FARMER across the road has an actual LAWN MOWER to mow is grass. While the School teacher uses FARM TRACTORS to mow his grass." She was smiling and laughing. I responded, "Yup, he doesn't know what he's missing...." Laughed and went on with it.
