IH/Farmall 140 or Super A

I want to put my IH 1000 loader on a larger tractor. It will fit on a Super A thru a 140. My preference is a 140 as they are newer and more modern, but will consider a Super A. The newer the better.

I'm not interested in a worn out, beat up tractor. No "projects" but turnkey ready. Original but cared for is fine. Older restorations are fine, too. Willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right deal. Would also consider trading for one or two of my Cubs and/or implements as the barn is pretty full right now.

Denny,

I guess the other one fell through? Good luck with your search!

The search is over! :{_}: Thanks to all who responded, helped or contacted me on this. The 140's are tough to find this far north, but just ask Boss, they are very common as planter/cultivator tractors in the south. I found some farther away and some not so far away. It seems like the further away they were, the better they were. I put the pinch on Boss for help and evaluations and asked if he knew of any I hadn't already found. He didn't, but knew a guy not that far from me he has dealt with in the past and has a lot of faith in. I called the guy and told him what I was looking for and if he knew of any around. He happened to have one he was planning to keep but would sell. He described it, sent me pictures, I sent them to Boss, he called the guy for more info and he called me back saying it was a keeper at the price. I made the deal and brought it home.

It's a 1975 Farmall 140 in pretty nice original condition that he brought back from Pennsylvania. Not pristine but honest, working bumps, bruises and scrapes. Everything checks out well, except the ammeter doesn't work, but it charges fine. It still needs some cleaning up as it was driven across a creek not long before I picked it up. And I only had to cross one state line, the Ohio River.

David, that thought ran through my mind when you said you were going to call him after I sent you the pics.

Thanks guys. That pic looks better than the pics the PO sent me. A little cleaner wax on the sheet metal does wonders along with the bright winter sun. It looked more like the front wheels before and up close it really does show its age. Appearancewise, it matches up well with the loader. They'll make a good pair.
