I've been passing this old farm that has a cub peeking out the front for several months. Today I approached the owner who advised that it was his dads and he was going to sell it. It's runs good, no knock or smoke and everyting works. It comes with the discs, cultivators, plow and a skidder(? didn't see that but he said it was in another barn). I know everyone doesn't like to put prices on stuff but what do you think a fair price would be?
I hope he asking too much because I really don't need another tractor but I feel that I'm getting hooked on this stuff. (this is why I don't drink)

Is it a Cub or a 140? There's quite a bit of difference.

As described with that equipment, in my area a 140 might bring $4500.00. Rarely less than that. If extra good condition, it might go to $6000.00. Buying a new tractor of comparable power with some equipment could easily approach $20K.

It's a 140 not a cub. I think after hearing from you I'll let it go. Thanks

I haven't seen much difference between Cub and 140 prices. 140 may run a little higher. I am sure there will be some local variations. You can probably use comments and advertized prices you have seen on this site WRT Cub values to get a general idea.
