There is a paste product (Locktite, I think, check with your auto parts seller) that will help take up the extra space. I believe it is rated for about .020 filler. It is applied to the surface to be filled and the new part is then installed, the paste hardens very quickly and will give a tight fit. I've used this on mower spindle housings that get enlarged because the bearing has turned in the race. This process may or may not work for you. You could also take the old bearing to a supplier and see if there is another one available this is slightly larger. Of course this would be trial and error to see if it would work.

I think the item Stan was referring to from Loctite is called bearing mount.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Is the product Loctite 660 ? Using the Loctite product application guide there are numerous products for similar applications including 660, 641, and 638. It appears that 660 is for filling larger gaps but is also for permanent installations. I need something like this on the front wheel spindle of a zero turn mower. It also looks like it might be good for removing the “play” in the linkage between the governor and carb.

There is a product called RED HAND that has been around for years and has been used to fix just that problem.

The last repair I did was on a 1 ton Ford rear end on my farm service truck. This bearing in the chunk had spun with several thou' of slop. After the repair had cured, put things back together and it's held now for 4 years of farm use. I've used this stuff for better than 30 years for the same type repairs etc.

I do remove all parts as possible, solvent clean the housing if possible and make the final cleaning with a nice dishwasher I have in the shop just for this purpose.

Once dry and clean, apply the mix. Let full cure before adding lube or use
