Touch control temp gauge

Postby Festus » Thu Nov 09, 2017 4:29 pm

I just replaced the temp gauge on my 140. It has been broken for years - the lead has been broken from both ends. Does anyone have a picture or can describe the correct routing for the lead?

I don't think there is much leeway, no extra length. From the filter cover, close to straight back under the left edge of the battery box, turn up next to rear of the battery box and the left side of the instrument panel, up to the gauge head. If there is any slack, it would go unto a slight bend close to the head. I think there is one clip under the battery and one on the vertical run beside the panel. If you go to the PM manual in the PDF manual section, there are a couple pictures that show part of the routing.

Thanks for the help. Looked at the pictures in the PDF manual and now have a pretty good idea how it should look.

just installed one, Jim is right, they are pretty cheap with the cable so you can only route it one way

Is the gauge really necessary for light use? I thought about repalcing mine on the super c but didn't figure it would be needed for light, occasional use
