Saw this picture. Based off the rusty plow guessing it's just for show not for use.

Looks like that plow may be something like an A-195 or C-295 from a C?

Did A mean for morning on an A and C for a C?

C mounts way different than A's reversed drawbar.

Looks like this is a Super A with a 295 on it.

Here you go compliments of the WHS McCormick Archives.

Doing it without wheel weights. I wouldn't expect much luck with 2 bottoms unless you had fairly light soil.

Thanks I just looked at that image yesterday and was wondering what plow that was that the bottom was so far rearward. Now I see it's a 2 bottom.

My second Super A has a set of wheel weights and cast iron wheel centers on both sides.

What was the story with the blue color for attachments?

Early implements were blue due to issues with pigment shortage for red paint.

In this area, most Super As were sold with A-295 plows.

Regardless pigment shortages, plow beams were always blue as part of the "red, white and blue" color scheme.

What kind of soil is it? We tend to have more clay here in WI on the Sidehills.

And I would assume you would need one or more sets of front weights to balance out a 2 bottom?

Sandy to sandy loam and fairly flat. It doesn't pull as hard as clay, but a lot of people think that it's ridiculously easy to work in sand when in fact it still takes a good deal of power--a Farmall M is a 3 plow tractor here for comparison.

Very rare to see any front wheel weights on a Super A--130. If the plow is set right they are not needed. Almost all had a set of rear wheel weights, some had fluid in the tires.

I currently pull a 2 bottom 14" plow with my Super A. It has a fast hitch and the plows I found are 14". Better suited for a 140 but it pulls it fine in 2nd gear about 8" deep. I am sure it has Fire Crater pistons in it though.

I'd like to find a single 16" plow for my '47 Super A for plowdays.
