Yippee!
Just bought a 130 with cultivators. The previous owner says it has roughly 24 hp - is that true? Is there a way tell from the name plate?
Are implements such as a drawbar 3pt hitch or a side dresser hard to come by for this tractor?
Can auxiliary hydraulics be used on this tractor? - Does it require a bypass block as for a cub?
Are there manuals on the site for service/Maintenance?
It has the original generator replaced with an automotive alternator (12v?), but has a 6v battery(new) and ignition coil - lights don't work and not sure if it is charging - ask for advisement on elec system & what I should attend in addition to fluids and lubrication
Thanks
Howard

Re: 1959 Farmall 130
The 130 had the highest rating between its group. A & 100 - 20hp, 130 - 24hp, and 140 at 23hp. Have to say the 130 is my favorite not so much for that extra 1hp but for the rounded grille.
As cars are rated at the engine then at the rear wheels tractordata.com rates them at the drawbar and belt pulley. It loses about 2hp from the engine to the bar but it's still a great little workhorse.

Changing the fluids is always a good move after buying a new to you tractor. Besides the obvious trans fluid and steering box fluids can have water in the oil so don't forget to drain and replace those.
As for electrical before you get in deep making assumption that it's the generator or something else pricey start with the basics and see where you land. Charge the battery and clean all the wiring connections which can make all the difference.

Re: 1959 Farmall 130
I am considering buying a 3 point hitch conversion kit for my 130
Has anyone put one on a 130?
How did it work for using say a grader box or bush hog?

It will work but I had rather have Fast Hitch.

The 130 is a good strong tractor.
I use mine primarily for pushing a lot of Northern Ontario snow.
