fan belt on tractor i got looked pretty beat so took it off ....seemed lot harder than usual to get off with generator all way loose
cut it in half ,,measured 41''
got the napa belt NBH 257420 Belt Length 42.58'' --- belt too long couldn't get tight enough cause I can't move that arm in the photo as the bolt holding it is rusted stuck
then got shorter belt 41 1/8'' --too short couldn't get it around
now that looking at yesterdays tractors for the 140 they got belt listed 41-7/8" long. (Part No: 367697R1)
should I try this one or got any suggestions?? the tightest I could get the long one I was able to deflect it good inch

Re: fan belt question
IH says the belt is 42" long. I would think you should be able to set the tension on a belt within 1/2 inch of spec. If you can't set the tension because you can't reposition the slotted bracket, seems like you need to work on the rusty bolt.

Re: fan belt question
NBH 257420 is the proper NAPA interchange part number for 367697R1.
I'm pretty sure that's the one I used on my Super A and had no problems getting it tight.
If the picture shows where your generator is with the belt flopping 1", you've got a LOT of tighten left there.
