Super A woods 59 help attaching.

Postby Farmcub31 » Thu Aug 25, 2016 8:27 pm

I am having a hard time figuring out how to connect my woods 59 mower underneath my super A. I purchased this tractor with a plow setup already there and he had a woods mower he said had all the parts that went with the tractor. Would someone have a few pictures looking at the crucial parts and how they look hooked up? Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give me.

I'm out at my farm tonight and IF I remember in the morning, I will take some photos. Won't be able to post them until I get back home, though...probably tomorrow night. Maybe someone will come along before then with some photos...?

The one thing I found out is if you aren't careful, you can get the mower too close to the rear tires and then raise the deck up, hitting the rear tires. Not bad in forward, but if you are backing up and the tire lugs snag that deck, it gets your attention!!!

Took me longer to get these posted, and I apologize. I needed to work on a Woods 42 spindle that had a cracked pully. Ordered the parts, and am waiting on them, so I was able to get back out to the farm and take these late this afternoon.

It will take me more than one post to get them all posted. Hope they help. Oh, and there is nothing that says I have everything correctly mounted...did this on my own, so if someone sees an error, please speak up! It does work well, however!!

Note: Usually when you click on photos to enlarge them, the orientation is corrected...not sure why some of these stayed sideways, but sorry...consider it neck exercises!!

And finally!! As I said, hope these help. I will be out at the farm mowing tomorrow, Sunday, if you need more details. I will check the forum before I leave so I can get any more photos you need.

The last two photos show how close the rear of the mower is to the rear wheels. I have accidentally snagged a tire lug when backing up and the deck raised too high. Nothing damaged...just a bit unnerving!!

GOOD LUCK! :-D

Dale this is so wonderful thank you so much for taking the time in taking these pictures for me. I will try and get the plows off and mount this mower if I have the time tomorrow. Thanks again I will update on here when I am able to get this mounted. I am really excited to get the mower mounted and see how she mows. The back area really is needing it now.

Good luck with it, and as I said, if you need more details, just ask here on the forum. If I can't answer or photograph it, someone else should be able to help. :D

I had a problem getting the mule drive off of mine. The previous owner had used studs and they had been in there awhile. Needless to say I snapped the last one off in the bull gear housing. I was not able to get it out but I was able to drill a hole thru it and was able to use a bolt , nuts and washers to attach it and my cultivators.

Don't over tighten and I would put some type of thread locker on them. Cast iron is soft and the bolts will loosen from use and waller' out the holes.

It worked! Thanks so much Dale for the pics and others that helped. That little mower cuts like a dream! Thanks again. I am needing the front pivot wheels the owner before me did not have them ever. It still mows great but I think next season I will have them on there so it will just roll instead of being lifted always.

Thanks for all the pictures. I'm looking to pick up a deck for my Super A in the future and this gives me a great idea what to look for.

I am having a heck of a time finding the caster wheels for upfront on the deck, does anyone have someone that would be parting a mower deck with some that would work? Just thought I would check on this thread first. Also on the super A how much hydraulic belly mower travel do you have when your lifting the deck up? Just curious. Thanks so much guys.
